Morning Meeting Sharing Time
One of the best things about teaching kindergarten is that you never know what students will say. They keep things delightfully interesting.
Recently in our sharing time portion of our morning meeting, I asked my students the question, “What is the hardest thing about being a kid?” Students were eager to participate as they passed the ball around the room and shared answers like, “doing chores” or “sharing my toys with my little brother.” When the ball got to one little boy he paused for minute and then very seriously said, “having a crush–it really is hard, Mrs. Prusse, it really is!” (Insert laughing crying emoji here.)
